FAQs

What is Icrete?

Icrete is latest technology based concrete additive for enhancing durability of concrete.

How does it work?

When added to concrete Icrete reacts with intermediate phases of Cement/cementitious materials and these reactions result in increase of strength, durability of concrete.

What standard Icrete conforms to?

Icrete conforms to ASTM C1797. Icrete also conforms to IS 2645 as a waterproofing compound.

Is Icrete a pozzolonic material?

No . It is not a pozzolonic material .This is mixture of carefully selected minerals and specialty additives.

What are the Benefits of Icrete?

By using Icrete, we can reduce Cement/cementitious contents. We can increase use of Pozzolonic materials. The concretes become more durable and greener.

Any other direct benefit from Icrete?

Icrete helps in formation of additional binding phases, which reduces the pore size of capillaries & hence enhances impermeability of concrete. Many times we have seen more than 50% reduction in permeability by using Icrete.

What is so unique about Icrete?

The product is capable of increasing performance with reduced Cement/ cementitious contents. The product is not very fine material and has the surface fineness closer to normal cement. The product works at low dosages to give high performance.

What is the ideal dosage of Icrete?

The normal dosage of Icrete is 0.7% to 1.5%. But when we are using this for High strength, High Performance Concretes we need to use at 2% to 2.5%.

Does Icrete affect the workability?

NO. The product does not have any effect on workability. But with some rare cement chemistry, slump may slightly reduce, which need to be enhanced using superplasticisers.

When we use Icrete in Concrete, can we use other pozzolonic materials?

Yes. Icrete can be used in conjunction with any Pozzolonic material to make better blended concretes.
